Hey Everyone,
I have a super exciting review to share with you all today. We recently learned of a company called Outschool and have had the pleasure in reviewing our experience with them.
‘Outschool is an innovative education platform that offers a variety of engaging, small-group classes online. Unlike traditional classes, Outschool classes give kids the unique opportunity to explore their interests in-depth via interactive, live video by experienced, independent educators.’
What I find so great about Outschool is the amazing choices of classes they have, think of a topic of interest for your children and they are sure to have it, whether it be for educational purposes, or something fun or even the combination of both. I really wanted both of the girls to be able to enjoy the classes together and so I chose something that I knew both of them would love. My 4 year old and 6 year old girls both love dancing, singing and have a big love for Disney… just like their mama!
For their first class I chose Disney Junior themed dance workout and sign language club, the girls have been learning a little bit of sign language both at school and nursery and I was amazed to see that this was linked in with the work out and was really interested to see how the class teacher would merge these two together. This class is an ongoing class which means we can choose to attend every week although there are some classes that are a one off.
To join a class you must enroll each child online and the classes are very affordable, I paid around 14GBP for both of the girls which if you compared to the cost of a dance class is actually fantastic. You can choose a suitable time for your family and away you go. When it is time, you can click on the link to join the class through your schedule on the website and they also email with the link and reminders too.
The classes are held via Zoom so everyone can see each other and interact. I thought this was brilliant and I have to say that the teacher was so lovely, very friendly and made all of the children at ease and feel very welcomed. She asked that the children have a drink of water close to them and gave them drink breaks. She had very cleverly thought out her class which was 25 minutes long and included enough time for ice breaking, chatting, dancing, learning sign language that was related to the dance music and it was overall a wonderful experience for my children who were sad when it ended.
The second class I chose for the girls was an Encanto Dance Workout party (We don’t talk about bruno no no no) if you know, you know. Once I had booked this I realised it was the same teacher who the girls adored so when I told them, they were super excited. The class started off with a chat, a warm up and then some fun dancing to the most favourite songs from Encanto and ended with a talk about their favourite characters from the movie. I honestly could not fault anything from both of the classes.
The website is so simple to use and there are plenty of filters and subjects to choose from which I really thought was great. I can see the girls joining many more as they get older but for now we will definitely continue with the dancing as my girls thoroughly enjoyed themselves. I chose these classes for an after school activity but there were many other times available throughout the day and evenings too. There is opportunities to speak with the teacher during and after class via the website and the classes are also recorded so we can watch them back.
When you see how much my two little girls enjoyed their classes, you’ll want your kids to join too. I have $20 off for you to try some classes out with yourself, use the code UKSAVE20M and check out Outschool.
