Combining fashion with function can be a challenge to say the least. If you want some creative ways that you can adapt your home for play and practicality, then this is the guide for you. Take a look below to find out more.
Embrace the Silly Things
Life is far too short to be serious. Consider adding some silly things to your home so that they amuse your kids and your guests. Some of the fun things that you can think to include are art prints, fun paper or even an animal-style toothbrush. Everyone needs a laugh now and again, so don’t be afraid to add this into your home design. If you need a laugh, then make it your mission to add things like this as it will really bring your home to life.

Get your Kids Involved
It doesn’t matter whether you have a fun clock or whether you have some playful cushions for your family room because it is great for you to include some décor in your home. You need things that your children can relate to, and you also need to try and allow them to choose a few accessories sometimes. If you can do this, then you will soon find that everything else comes together nicely. If you want to get them involved with cooking, why not try and invest in bespoke kitchens, so that you can make a counter suited to their height.
Create a Space
Children tend to have busy minds and they are also always on the go. Just like adults, it’s important to know that little ones can benefit if they are encouraged to take some time out from time to time. Create a separate space for them to do this if you can. It may be that you buy some beanbags and that you set up a reading corner for them or that you have a few floor cushions and then some books on a shelf. Either way, things like this can be simple yet effective and you would be surprised at how easy it is for you to really make them feel special.
Adults Keep out
Giving children their own space where they can build with Lego or even paint is a win-win, for everyone in the family. It also helps to keep the creative flair in one room. It may be that you need to invest in a cube unit to store all of their toys, blocks and craft products. This will make tidying up a breeze, but it will also give your kids the chance to have fun, which is super important.
Bring Nature Inside
Having plants in your house is a fantastic source of oxygen. They also have a positive impact on your mind as well. While you may well have a few house plants dotted around, why not give your child the chance to take care of their own plant? You can do this in their bedroom. Make the whole thing into an adventure and take them to a garden centre. Allow them to choose their own plant. If you want to keep the cost down, then invest in a simple terracotta pot and allow them to decorate it.
