Hey Everyone,
Do not underestimate the value of adding elements of colour to your home! Regardless of whether you live in a one-bedroom flat in the city or a large detached house in the countryside, you can add colour in various different ways to create a certain ambiance. Some people like to add a big, bright feature wall, whereas others prefer to keep the walls neutral and use soft furnishings to make it more colourful. There’s no right or wrong answer, just whatever works for you and your home.
Framed art is a great way to add colour and it doesn’t necessarily have to be expensive. There are so many different types of art so try and choose something that suits the rest of the house, whilst becoming a colourful centrepiece. For instance, if your house is quite traditional, then a funky modern piece of art might seem out of place. With that said, though, the contrast might look fantastic – only you can determine what will look good in your own home.
As mentioned above, soft furnishings are regularly used to add colour to a home. This includes things like cushions, curtains and rugs. Try and introduce a couple of colours and tones rather than going overboard with just one. If you live on a busy/noisy road, you could consider hanging fabric on the wall because this will muffle the noise and act as insulation.
Another interesting way to add colour to your home is with stained-glass windows. Obviously, you have to be committed to the idea because once it’s been installed you can’t paint over it or easily replace it if you’re not a fan. When the light shines through a stained-glass window, it creates a beautiful display of colour on the other side. What’s more, they are a way to truly incorporate your personality into your property, as they can be bespoke designed to suit your preferences.
I hope these tips have helped you if you’ve arrived here looking for ideas for adding colour to your home.
