On this day six years ago we lost our friend Tash/Tashtingz. So I’m dedicating my first proper blog post to her because we all miss her! One minute she was here and the next she was in a coma and her family and friends were being told that she would not survive what had happened. I remember visiting her in hospital on two different days with Reuben and our friends it’s all a big blur. We had every faith that she would be okay and that she would just need to be in hospital for a little bit. We were never expecting the outcome that she would never come home. The last time we saw her we were there to say our goodbyes and I asked the nurse if she could hear me and in the nicest way possible she said that Tash couldn’t hear us anymore and it broke my heart. My heart broke even more for her beautiful family, there were no words that we could say that could make the situation any better for them. She was really really loved by so many people. Her presence is missed by us all but she will forever be in our memories.
You never in your life think that you’d be saying goodbye to your friends at such a young age. She was only 19 years young and had her whole life ahead of her with so many hopes and dreams. I went to school with Tasha and knew her when I was little but never really spoke again until we had both left school. I was actually with mutual friends and they were talking about her one day, I said I remembered her and they told me she had a sex change and could only afford one ball and me being me believed that until we ended up hanging out together (HAHA TOM AND RICHARD YOU CHEEKY BASTARDS) She honestly was the most loyal friend and lit up any room she was in, she had a contagious laugh and the most ridiculous vocabulary I have ever witnessed in my life! (Thats WELL REEM MATE) (I’m having a debation over the population of the nation) (WHAT U SAYINNNNNN)and (CRACKHEADDDDD) we used to always call each other crackheads and just randomly shout crack. Jess and I still carry this tradition on! When she sent you a text it never really made any sense and you’d have to read it over and over. It makes me laugh reading back on comments and messages over Facebook!
Also for someone so small she could literally eat for England! BBQs in the summer when everyone had eaten and she would literally carry on eating until it had gone!
Oh I really do treasure the time that was spent with her and the beautiful and funny memories I will keep with me forever. If I could go back in time I would have taken more photos of us but there will never be enough photos when you are missing someone from your life. There are so many more memories I could write about I will most probably come back to this and write more another day.
We visited her today (the girls and I) with Tasha’s sister Mary and her friend Jen to bring her some flowers and she looked beautiful as always with the brightest of flowers just like her personality.
I miss you Tash. I bet your causing mischief up there! Keep on shining. Sending the biggest hugs to your beautiful family!
