Binge watching is sometimes one of the only things that can make a long haul flight go faster. And when you’re traveling, you want to be able to binge watch things that actually make sense to you. Whether you have a specific TV show or a movie you love to watch, being able to watch what you want when you want while you travel is important.
If you do decide to move abroad or you settle somewhere else in the world, you do need to also think about how to get Hulu in UK or getting your Netflix in America, because Netflix in America is different from Australia and the UK, as is Hulu. You don’t have to be particularly set text heavy to have media content access really easily. You just need to plan ahead and we’ve got some tips for you below.
- Get a VPN. If you’re traveling internationally, or you don’t particularly want to have your online activity tracked, you can make sure that you purchase a Virtual Private Network. It’s a smart idea anyway because it helps you with that additional security that you’re looking for when you’re abroad, but it’s a little-known feature and you can set your device as a location to any city. So if you want to access Netflix in America, you can do that. And you can also access Netflix in the UK, and you get a broader advantage over which channels you are able to watch. Some of the TV shows on Netflix are not available in certain areas of the world, but with a VPN they’re available to you no matter where you are.
- Download your content. To be able to watch your shows wherever you go, you can download your content before you leave. If you can’t get Hulu in the UK, then you should download your shows before you go and you can then watch them over Wi-Fi. At least then they’ll be on your device, so no matter where you are located. You can still watch what you want to watch.
- By your shows on iTunes. If you don’t have Netflix or the content you want isn’t available for download, have a look on iTunes and buy or rent it from there. You have the added bonus of always owning that content if you buy it, and if it’s ever removed from the streaming service. Your coffee will be lost as well if you try to do it from Netflix.
- Tap into your cable subscription. There is an option for some cable subscriptions to allow you to watch wherever you are in the world. You won’t be able to download your content for offline viewing, but with a VPN you won’t have to worry about your location either. This means you can still watch your own DVR content, or you can log in to watch your shows that are at a specific time of the day.
- Rip the DVDs. If you don’t have a CD area in your laptop, rip your DVDs onto your hard drive. It won’t violate the copyright because you’re ripping them directly from the DVD and saving them to your hard drive.
