Hi Everyone,
Our littlest girly Zayah is turning 3 at the end of this month. Why does she have to grow up so fast? It feels like only yesterday she was still a little baby. I thought I’d put together a birthday gift guide in case anyone wanted some lovely gift ideas for children of their own of this age to give as a gift to friends and families little ones.
*Disclaimer – Some of the items featured in this blog post have been gifted to us*
Mermaid in England colour changing swimwear. We were already big fans of their beautiful colour changing swimming costumes and Zayah has received this childrens one piece cross back swimming costume in mermaid print. Its pretty magical in that you dont get to see the pattern on the swimwear until it touches the water. My daughter Zara has the rainb ow version and both of them are obsessed! These come in sizes 3-4 to 11-12 and they also sell adult size swimwear too. This is available to order from Mermaid in England for £30.
The Monstrous Me book collection by Natalie Billing Reeves. This is such a lovely collection of books for little ones. It can be read in different perspectives and looks at different situations where the point of view changes so that they can experience wellbeing, roundedness and balance. Whats super cool about this is that you can literally and figuratively turn the book on its head. You will see that the story is told in both through the childrens and the parents eyes. Available from Amazon for 6.99.
Ben and the Bug book by Natalie Billing Reeves. This is such a brilliant book which is aimed at parents and families wanting to a friendly approach to discussions around Corona Virus. When Ben meets Bug at the swing park, they instantly become the best of friends. But when everyone around them gets sick, Ben wonders about the identity of his new playmate. This is available from Amazon for £6.99.
Babyborn Soft Touch Boy Doll. Zayah absolutely adores babies, we have a few at home and they get dragged around the house with her during the day and they get fed a lot! Can’t let her babies go hungry haha! This one has 9 life like functions. She has asked for a boy baby for her birthday so many times so her wish is my command (although she’s also asked for a real boy baby – sorry kid). Available for £44.99 from Smyths Toys.
Vtech Toot-Toot drivers Cory Carson Freddie Fire engine set. Our girls are both obsessed with Cory Carson at the moment so Zayah will be so pleased to receive this on her birthday. They love to watch the Cory Carson series on Netflix and I have to admit it’s kind of cute. The play set and the cars are sold separately. The Firestation is £18 from amazon and the cars are £13 for Cory and Chrissy.
Wild Tribe Heroes books – Meet Duffy the Sea Turtle in Duffy’s Lucky Escape as she eats the wrong type of jellyfish, Marli the Puffin in Marli’s Tangled Tale who gets more than she bargained for whilst hunting for food and Nelson the Whale in Nelson’s Dangerous Dive whose curiosity leads him to a ghostly encounter. The Wild Tribe Heroes books are a little different from your normal children’s book. Not only are they great children’s books in their own right but there is also a powerful message behind each story passed on in a gentle way. Children and adults alike will love these books and feel inspired to make positive changes to their own lives and their communities. Available for £7.99 each.
Smoby Funny Garden Slide with garden attachment. My littles ones LOVE using the slide at the park and I thought this would make a great birthday gift. What I love it that you can attach the garden hose and turn it into a water slide on the warmer days. With everything going on at the moment it will be nice for Zayah to be able to play more in the garden at home. This one is £150 from Amazon.
Photo Pairs. I thought this was such a lovely idea for a present as you get to choose the photos for the game. I’ve chosen photos of Zayah and the rest of our family and she will LOVE it! It’s really easy to do on the Asda photo website, you can simply upload photos from your phone. There are 50 cards to play with so it makes 25 pairs and comes in a little gift box. Available for £15 from Asda Photo.
Monogram Custom Colour Personalised Photo Blanket. I absolutely adore this gift idea. Zayah will get to keep warm and cosy with her new birthday blanket which has photos of us all on here for her to look at. It’s super soft and warm and perfect for the coming months to snuggle up with. This one is 57 x 37 which is £45 but they also have smaller ones too. You can choose colours, and fonts as well as adding your own photos. From Asda Photo Online.
Dottyfish Silver Stars Grey Slippers. These are so lovely and cosy. Perfect for keeping Zayah’s little feet warm during autumn and winter. These super soft and cosy Silver Stars slippers are made from grey suede and feature a scattering of shiny silver stars. They have a snug fleece inner lining making them very warm. We use premium suede that is safe for babies and young children. A non-slip sole makes them perfect for keeping little feet snug and warm during the cold winter months, especially on wooden and laminate flooring. They have an elasticated ankle trim, so they fit well and are so comfortable to wear your little one won’t want to take them off.
The starry night design means they make an ideal gift and are perfect for Christmas morning. As with all Dotty Fish shoes, they come delivered in an organza bag. These adorable slippers are also available in navy, tan, pink and pale grey and go up to size 4-5 years with some styles available in age 5-6 years. From £13.49 – £14.49.
Guppy Goggles from Splash About. Ever since we came back from our Butlins trip last year our two girls have got an obsession with swimming goggles after seeing other children wearing them. Not only can we use these when we next go away but it will be perfect for in the bath when I’m washing Zayahs hair (she hates it) and also for when we go swimming. I will definitely be picking up 2 pairs so that the girls don’t fight over them! These work for ages 2 up until 6 and made from soft silicone to make it lightweight and comfortable to wear. They also have some other bits on their website that would be great for bath time and swimming.
Aqua Play Mountain Lake. I have to get this because Zayah absolutely loves playing with water. I wish I could tell you how many times the bathroom has been flooded because I’ve caught her and her sister playing with the taps. This looks so awesome and has lots of different features to play with and I know it will keep the girls occupied for hours too. It also contains a speedboat, a container boat with container and the three animal figures; Lotta the duck, Nils the frog and BO the bear. Together with the figures, children can explore the mountains mysterious cave, climb the steep cliffs, take the speedboat down the hilarious waterfall or search for treasures in the canals. Set the water into motion by paddling the water wheel and pass through the enormous lock system. You regulate the water level by using the pump and opening the lock gates. Available for £49.95 on Amazon.
Caterpillar Countdown Card. I’ve never seen any birthday cards like this before! It’s a 7 day countdown to your little ones birthday and each day they get to open a little window. A bit like an advent calendar but for their birthday. There are quite a few designs to choose from and I think it’s such a brilliant idea. Zayah is going to love hers so much! Inside the little windows are different pictures and when it’s the big day it says happy birthday. Available for £4.99 which I think is very reasonable.
Last but not least this DanToy 3 person Rocker/Seesaw. This will be Zara’s present to her little sister and something that they can both play with. When Zara is at school, Zayah can sit in the middle and use it alone. They can also have one extra person sit on it with them if they have a play date. Zayah loves crocodiles so I think this will be a big hit! Available from Amazon for £24.99.
