Hey Everyone,
Isn’t it the most beautiful thing seeing your children’s imaginations run wild. We have two little girls and I love to watch and listen to them chatting as they make up their stories own little games together.

Imaginative play is so important for children, it allows them to develop their social and cognitive skills. It allows them to explore their past and future, by role playing and acting out different scenarios.
Examples of Role playing could include;
- Pretending to cook
- playing dress up
- clean
- save the world
- slaying dragons
- being mummy and daddy
- hosting dinner parties
- shopping
- going to work
Those are just a few examples but your child’s imagination will take them to so many more places, it’s truly magical!
My girls love to play doctors, pretend to be under the sea, they also love to make dinner for mummy and daddy by using things they have collected in the garden such as leaves, mud and stones. I’m looking at purchasing a mud kitchen that they can play with outdoors.
I’ve got my eye on this mud kitchen from Ride On Toys. It is the TP Deluxe Wooden Mud kitchen and it looks AWESOME. It has some amazing features which would be perfect for my little girls imaginations. They would absolutely love playing with this come rain or shine. Complete with a refillable water burr and a real working tap – it will make mud making super easy and fun. RRP £149.99
I also really like the look of this TP Ahoy Wooden Play Boat. I can already picture in my head the girls pretending to be out at sea, having pirate sword fights, pretending to be mermaids or re-enacting Moana! I will definitely be saving up for this and it retails for £179.99 from Ride On Toys.
My daughters absolutely love play dough, they love to make pretend food, people, creepy crawlers and animals and playing with their creations. As well as being good for imaginative play it is also a sensory experience.
To make it even more sensory I like to add just couple of drops of essential oils. This gives it a soothing and relaxing scent. You can check out my recipe for that here. All of the ingredients can be found in most supermarkets and it’s so cheap to make.
These are just a few of my imaginative play ideas. I always love reading and seeing other families ideas so tag me in yours!
