Hi Everyone,
I hope you are all okay. Our beautiful rainbow baby girl Zara is turning 5 this month. I honestly don’t know where the time has gone or how I’ve suddenly got a sassy mini me but I’m super excited for her birthday. With everything going on at the moment I’m not really sure what’s going to happen for her birthday near the end of July but I’m trying to stay prepared.
I’ve already bought a few gifts although she’s not made it clear on what she actually would like so it looks like she will have lots of surprises. I’ve also been playing around with some graphics from design bundles to design some party invitations.
Design Bundles offer exclusive deals on high quality, premium design resources and free design resources. They offer up to 96% off the RRP on design elements from thousands of independents designers. They also offer free design resources each week which you can download and use how you please whether it be for invitations like me or for printing on T-shirt’s, mugs, or using for websites.
The files that are downloaded are an SVG File which is a scalable vector graphics file. It can be created and edited with any text. They are widely supported on different internet browsers and graphics creators.
I have had so much fun playing around with some of the graphics from design bundles to make some party invitations. With everything going on I haven’t even been sure if we’d be able to have a party but if we couldn’t we could always use these as a virtual invite to a virtual party with family and friends. I made a couple of invitations as we haven’t chosen a theme for a birthday party and it’s nice to have a few to pick from nearer the time. It’s so simple. I’ve gone onto the design bundles website and chosen some bundles that I really liked the look of. You need to register to be able to download them, even the free bundles and once you’ve done this you can click download. Once you’ve downloaded the zip files you will need to extract the file in order to use what’s inside it.
I’ve used the app Canva to create my party invitations and uploaded the graphics from design bundles onto my account so I can use them as I please. (Note – you need to have Canva Pro and be able to do this from a desktop or laptop as you can’t do this from a phone.) Click onto your account and you can add the graphics that you’ve just downloaded into the brand logos section, once you’ve added everything you need then you can choose a template or a blank page to create your design and you can add the graphics from design bundles. In the party invitations below I’ve used Boho Collection Floral Decoration which was free to download.
I then tried making a unicorn themed invitation using the Unicorn Split Monogram Frame which was free to download and added this onto Canva to play around with. What child doesn’t love unicorns? I know that my girls love them and think they are magical. I’m super happy with how this turned out. It’s so easy to create such lovely designs, I also really like this arrow SVG which would be great to make prints for around the home.
I also LOVE the Halloween SVG and cant wait to get stuck in making halloween prints, decor or party invitations.
You can create any design to fit any theme you have in mind, I also made a simpler themed birthday invitation using the Watercolor Eucalyptus and peach floral rose clip art bundle to add a beautiful girly touch to this. I was blown away with what was included in this bundle when I extracted the zip file on our computer. This bundle had so much, you get all of the flowers, and leaves and wreaths separately to be able to design completely from scratch. I chose a simple wreath which I think is just absolutely gorgeous. You can blow up or shrink any of the graphics to fit your design without making them look stretched and it looks really professional.
I will definitely be using some of the design bundles to use on my blog to make it for colourful and spruce it up a little as I’ve really enjoyed using them. Why not have a go yourself? It’s so satisfying seeing everything come together.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading and I would love to see any invitations, cards or designs you’ve chosen to create too!
